1. Introduction

Welcome to Reciplan – Indian Meal Planner, a smart meal planning, recipe, and grocery management application developed by Amalthea Labs LLP (“we”, “our”, or “us”).

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, protect, and process information when you use the Reciplan mobile application (“Reciplan” or the “Service”).

Our goal is to maintain a privacy-focused experience while using only the minimum data necessary to provide, improve, secure, and responsibly support the app.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Personal Information

Reciplan does not require mandatory account creation.

We do not directly collect personally identifiable information such as:

2.2 Support & Communication Data

  • Some identifiers such as App Instance IDs, device identifiers, or Advertising IDs may be collected automatically by integrated SDKs.
  • We use this data to improve app stability, performance, user experience, monetization effectiveness, and product development.
  • We do not sell personal information directly to third parties.
  • We do not use analytics data for credit, employment, housing, or insurance decisions.

Advertising ID Usage

Reciplan may use the Android Advertising ID (AD_ID permission) for:

  • Ad serving
  • Ad attribution
  • Fraud prevention
  • Measuring ad performance
  • Improving ad relevance
  • Supporting app monetization through third-party ad networks

We do not use Advertising IDs for personally identifying users.

2.4 Advertising & Ad Networks

Reciplan currently uses Google AdMob to display advertisements within the app.

Google AdMob may use automated technologies to collect certain information for ad delivery, analytics, fraud prevention, and measurement purposes in accordance with Google's policies and applicable privacy regulations.

These ad networks and their advertising partners may collect and process:

  • Advertising identifiers

2.5 Locally Stored Data (Core App Data)

Reciplan follows a "Local First" architecture. The following data is primarily stored locally within your device's internal storage:

  • Meal plans
  • Grocery lists
  • Pantry items
  • Saved recipes
  • Preferences
  • Planner settings
  • Notification schedules

We do not store this core planning data on our own servers.

3. Device Permissions We Request

Reciplan requests only permissions necessary for app functionality and monetization:

  • Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used to send meal reminders, preparation alerts, and cooking notifications.
  • Exact Alarms (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM): Used for precise reminder scheduling.
  • Auto Start / Boot Completed (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): Used to restore scheduled reminders after device restart.
  • Wake Lock (WAKE_LOCK): Used briefly to ensure scheduled reminders trigger reliably.
  • Internet Access: Required for analytics, crash reporting, ads, subscription validation, and app updates.
  • Advertising ID Permission (AD_ID): Used by advertising networks and analytics services for ad serving, attribution, fraud prevention, analytics, and monetization support.

4. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

Reciplan offers optional premium features and subscriptions.

Payment Processing

All payments are securely handled through your device's native app store billing platform. We do not store or process credit card information, debit card information, banking details, or UPI credentials.

Subscription Management

We use a third-party subscription infrastructure and entitlement management service. This service may process:

  • Pseudonymous app user IDs
  • Purchase status
  • Subscription identifiers
  • Transaction metadata

No directly identifying personal information is intentionally shared with this service by us.

5. Data Sharing & Third-Party Services

We do not sell personal information directly to third parties. We may share limited pseudonymous data with essential service providers to operate the app, including:

  • Analytics & Crash Reporting Providers (to monitor app stability and performance)
  • Advertising Networks (to serve personalized and non-personalized ads)
  • Subscription Management Services (to validate premium access)
  • App Stores & Billing Platforms (for secure payment processing)

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Account Deletion

Reciplan does not require user accounts.

Local Data Deletion

You may permanently delete your local data by uninstalling the app or clearing app storage in Android settings. This removes:

  • Meal plans
  • Grocery lists
  • Preferences
  • Pantry data
  • Planner settings

Support Data Retention

Support communications may be retained only as long as necessary to resolve support issues, prevent abuse, or maintain records where legally required.

7. Children’s Privacy

Reciplan is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that information from a child has been collected unintentionally, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

8. User Controls & Choices

You may limit or control certain data collection through:

  • Android privacy settings
  • Advertising ID reset
  • Ad personalization settings
  • Permission management
  • Notification settings

Some limited diagnostic or security-related data may still be collected for core functionality.

9. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. These include:

  • Local-first data storage

However, no system can guarantee absolute security.

10. International Data Processing

Some third-party providers may process data on servers located outside your country. By using Reciplan, you acknowledge that data may be processed internationally in accordance with applicable laws.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our services, technologies, legal requirements, or advertising practices. Changes become effective when published within the app, website, or Google Play listing. Continued use of Reciplan after updates means you accept the revised policy.

13. Your Rights

Since most core app data remains local to your device, you can exercise deletion rights directly by clearing app storage or uninstalling the app.
